You can click on any of the following addresses and jump to interesting sites on the WEB that are related to Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Hope you enjoy them

  • Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • www.uiowa.edu/~oprm/AtlasHome.html - This is a very powerful Oral Pathology Atlas at the University of Iowa. It has many images of oral pathological lesions. It should be of great interest to you.
  • dentalstudent.com - This is a web site with many links to items of interest to dental students. You can link from this site to courses, discussion groups, and many other references that might be helpful.
  • medicalstudent.com - This is a similar site to dentalstudent.com that has many links and items of interest to both medical and dental students.
  • www.vh.org - This is the University of Iowa's Virtual Hospital. It is a powerful home page with a large number of resources that will help you look things up, study, find out about many different subjects in which you are interested. Look particularly at the section on Information for Health Care Providers.
  • www.mednet.gr/pim/oralpath.htm - This is a web site in Greece that has many pictures and other references in oral pathology. It is quite interesting and text is in English.
  • www-medlib.med.utah.edu/WebPath/webpath.html- This is one of the most useful resources in general pathology. You can learn about diseases, see pictures of gross, clinical and microscopic. There are a whole series of clinicopathologic cases and a large database of review questions to study plus much more. This would be a help in National Board study. Sorry, no oral pathology stuff here.
  • www.pathsrv.com/index.html - This is a home page of a pathology service in Cambridge, MA. They have a feature entitled "newsletters." Explore the newsletters, and you will find a large number of oral pathology cases that you can review and look at. They are quite good.
  • www.uq.edu.au/dentistry/pathlink.htm - This is a page in Australia at Univ. of Queensland. The page is quite interesting with links to other sites such as NCI, CDC, the University of Iowa Oral Pathology Atlas and a very interesting online medical dictionary. Try it.
  • path.upmc.edu/cases - This site lists a large number of cases in pathology and head and neck pathology (over 100). You can explore them and see if any are of interest.
  • www.medicine.uiowa.edu/anatomy/dental/oralhist/ - This is another fine web site from University of Iowa, only not pathology, but normal oral histology. It will provide a good review.
  • www.medicine.uiowa.edu/anatomy/dental/genhisto/ - This is the general histology counterpart of the Oral Histology site above. It has excellent quality images and is very complete.
  • www.uiowa.edu/~oprm/webcase - This is a large series of cases with clinical information, high quality images and a brief discussion and diagnosis of each case. Navigation is simple.
  • www.usc.edu/hsc/dental/opath - This is an example of a web-based oral pathology course. It is good to get an idea what it would be like to take oral pathology over the web, and oral pathologists might get some ideas for their courses from this site.
  • tasc.sdm.buffalo.edu/aadsoft - This is a large resource from the University of Buffalo and the American Dental Education Association that lists many of the information technology resources that are available at schools around the world. This is a good resource for students and faculty.

A good exercise is to go to any of the web search engines and run a search on "oral pathology." At Yahoo I got over 4000 hits. If you have questions, we are available.
