On a piece of scrap paper write a description for each of the 4 lesions you see below. After you have written down your description, check your answer by clicking on the arrow on the answer box under each image. The answers are very complete, so don't worry that you missed some of the details. The important part is when you read the answers, be certain you can see everything described in the answer. Look for yourself improving as you go from 1 to 4.

ANSWER A 4mm x 2mm, well-demarcated, oval, gray/blue macule on the left buccal mucosa opposite tooth #14

ANSWER A 2 x 3 cm, pink, well-demarcated, tri-lobed tumor located on the midline of the hard palate at the level of the premolars. A few blood vessels visible on the surface.

ANSWER A 5mm x 2cm well-demarcated, irregularly shaped, red to brown ulcer with areas of gray-brown crusting on the vermillion border and skin surface of the left lower lip.

ANSWER A poorly demarcated, diffuse leukoplakia covering most of the left buccal mucosa in the molar and premolar region. The lesion has a raised white crest along the occlusal line and fades out to a white plaque toward the periphery.
