School Celebrates Gifts at Naming Recognition Day
Posted on November 05, 2009
"With these new and named spaces, we continue to add to the legacy created by many people from the past. The honored family members who learned valuable lessons, the beloved teachers who shared their knowledge and the caring doctors who are remembered would be thrilled to see all of you celebrating the past, present, and future of this great school."
Dean Ron Hunt
The VCU School of Dentistry honored people who gave major gifts to the school at a Naming Recognition Day on Friday October 30. The school commemorated their investments by naming some important physical spaces in its buildings, most of which are new spaces in the W. Baxter Perkinson, Jr. Building. The named spaces included a wide variety of facilities that allow the school to increase enrollment, expand research capacity, and strengthen the clinical enterprise.
"This event gave us a way to showcase the Perkinson Building and publicly thank our donors," said Ed Kardos, director of development.
At the ceremony, Dean Hunt outlined each donor’s special connection to the school and presented each with a miniature replica of the name plaque bearing their name and the facility named.
