In our practice, dental hygiene care centers on the
prevention and control of oral diseases; our emphasis is on the
maintenance of health. Your oral health is important and we
design a treatment program to address your unique needs and to
educate you in proper home care techniques. Your first
appointment with the dental hygienist will include an
examination of your mouth, an assessment of your home care
habits, x-rays and an evaluation of the health of your mouth.
Depending on your needs, the removal of calculus may be
accomplished in the initial appointment, additional
appointments may be needed, or a referral to a periodontal
specialist may be made. Dental hygiene services are available
for general and specialty practices. Your dentist and dental
hygienist work as a team to design a plan and sequence recall
appointments that help you maintain your oral health.
