Periodontics is the specialty of dentistry, which covers the
prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the
supporting and surrounding tissues (gums and bone) of the teeth
or their substitutes (implants). This includes soft tissue and
bone grafting to regenerate lost support for the teeth.
