Education and Patient Services - A Dual Goal

Our faculty teach a wide range of undergraduate courses and we also offer a 12-month advanced education residency program. In addition to providing valuable clinical experience to our senior dental and dental hygiene students, our preceptorship program assists in providing quality oral health care to the community. Since July 2000, the school's students and faculty have participated in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Project, providing dental care to underserved areas of the state. 16 MOM projects have provided 13,000 patients with $5.7 million of free dental care. The school is in the forefront of dental education with its DentSim dental simulators, a computerized training system, which allows students to perform procedures on a simulated patient and receive real-time feedback.
