Resident on-call duties

The call schedule for the VCU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program generally consists of on-call approximately every third day in the first year of the residency while the resident is on the OMFS service with an upper-level second coverage. The OMFS on-call duties include management of facial trauma patients alternating full coverage of these patients every third week with the plastic surgery and ENT services. It also includes management of inpatient consults, post-operative care and other oral and maxillofacial emergencies.
