Dr. J. Charles Gills graduated magna cum laude from Hampden-Sydney College with a bachelor’s degree in 1964. He attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, earning a D.D.S. in 1968. Dr. Gills then received a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics in 1969 from the Division of Advanced Dental Education of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine. He joined the part-time faculty of the newly formed Virginia Commonwealth University in 1970, and he currently serves as associate clinical professor of orthodontics. Dr. Gills has also maintained a private practice since 1970.
