Dr. Tom Grisius received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating magna cum laude, from the Virginia Commonwealth University. He continued his dental education earning a Master of Science and a certificate in orthodontics from the University of Detroit Mercy. Throughout his dental education he received numerous awards and honors including the MCV Cancer Education Council Scholarship, Ashton Gay and Henry Vaughn Leadership Scholarship and the MCV Merit Scholarship.
After graduation, Dr. Grisius practiced in a group practice in the Shenandoah Valley for three years before starting a solo practice closer to his family in northern Virginia. He maintains his academic involvement as a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at VCU, and recently co-authored a textbook chapter titled Dental and Orthodontic Applications in Pediatric Plastic Surgery. In addition, his academic credentials include the publication of numerous scientific articles and active involvement in the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Grisius is board certified by the American Association of Orthodontists and has extensive experience in complex multidisiplinary cases involving implant restorations and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Grisius lives in Purcellville, VA and is married to his lovely wife, Heidi, and has two adorable sons. He enjoys woodworking, VA Tech football, the Washington Redskins, and being a dad.
