 Mission
The Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation is a nonprofit Virginia corporation established in 1970. Alumni or faculty of the Department of Orthodontics may become regular members of the foundation. Graduates of other orthodontic programs may become honorary members.
Primary Goals of the Foundation
- Disseminate scientific information through scientific meetings.
- Establish endowments for support of orthodontic faculty.
- Promote education and scientific research in orthodontics and dentistry.
- Provide funding for scholarships, fellowships and support of orthodontic students.
- Purchase equipment for orthodontic research and teaching.
- Receive gifts and contributions.
- Transfer or contribute funds to qualifying nonprofit tax-exempt organizations as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
