The School of Dentistry offers an ongoing schedule of Continuing Education.
These courses are taught by experts both from outside VCU and from the School's
own faculty. Details of currently scheduled courses can be reviewed at our CE
site.
Our Office of Administrative Services offers the Practice Opportunities site as a
service that benefits professionals who would like to fill an open position in
a practice, find a lessee for space, or find a buyer for a practice, by
providing an advertising vehicle for such opportunities. At this site, available
opportunities can be reviewed in full, or more narrowly by VDA region, county
or city, or other criteria.
The histopathology laboratory currently serves more than 1,000 practitioners
from 25 states and is one of the largest of its kind in the United States.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Diagnostic Service will supply specimen
bottles, mailing envelopes, history forms and postage paid return labels at no
charge to the requesting practitioner. Upon arrival, the specimen is prepared
for overnight processing and is histologically examined the following business
day. A complete description, which includes patient information, history,
histologic description, diagnosis, appropriate comments and ICD code is sent
to you.
Assistance in interpretation can be obtained by forwarding radiographs
along with pertinent clinical information to the Oral and Maxillofacial
Pathology Diagnostic Service. A written summary of the radiographic findings,
differential diagnosis and suggested follow-up care will be sent to you.
