Bench Test Preparatory Course

Registration process will begin January 6, 2015

VCU offers a preparatory course in restorative dentistry for international dentists. This course is optimal for those who may need better preparation in fixed and removable prosthodontics, operative dentistry, DentSim and treatment planning for the testing required by most U.S. dental schools as part of their admissions process.

The course features didactic and hands-on sessions supervised by VCU School of Dentistry faculty. Low faculty-to-student ratio is expected. The course includes a mock bench test and a detailed review of the results. Participants will be trained in the state-of-the-art Virtual Reality Simulation Laboratory as well as the new preclinical facility at the VCU School of Dentistry.

This course is not a prerequisite nor does it guarantee admission to any dental school.

    • Perform a preparation and fabricate a temporary restoration on an anterior tooth for a full ceramic restoration.

    • Design removable partial denture prostheses appropriate for different edentulous configurations.
  3. Operative dentistry
